| Description: The new
PODElectronics USB Digital Audio Adapter for XMDirect allows bit
perfect audio input to your computer. After
installation, simply plug a USB cable into the adapter and a new
sound device will appear on your computer. This sound device
will have a bit perfect copy of the original digital signal as
transmitted by the XM satellites.
Tested Fully compatible with TimeTrax and AutioXM
The digital signal is the same digital quality signal as used by
TOSLink modifications, however with this modification there is no
need to have a sound card with TOSLink inputs. For
completeness purposes this digital adapter also includes a TOSLINK
output transceiver in case you would like to also plug the XMDirect
into your home stereo. Both the USB digital audio and TOSLINK
digital audio interfaces work simultaneously.
The USB Digital Audio Adapter uses only the highest quality
components from Texas Instruments' Burr-Brown division, considered
by most audiophiles to be the "gold standard" in components.
The analog outputs on your XM Direct will continue to operate
normally.
Installation Required
Installation is simple, however it does require basic soldering
skills. The USB Digital Audio Adapter is installed by
replacing two screws (included) inside the XMDirect and soldering
six pads to the XM Module inside the XMDirect. Below is a
picture of an installed unit with the cover off. Units are
100% tested before shipping. XMDirect not included. USB
cable included.
